WHAT IS A THREAD LIFT?
At the Dr Grace Kelly Aesthetic Skin Clinic in Chalfont St Peter, we know that daily concerns can affect the face and neck, giving the appearance a tired look with features that start to lose their definition. A thread lift can restore a youthful look by lifting loose skin around the eyebrows, cheeks, neck and jawline, as well as working to smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
HOW DOES A THREAD LIFT WORK?
During a thread lift procedure at our Chalfont St Peter clinic, temporary polydioxanone sutures are inserted into the skin at discreet places around the face and neck. The soft threads work by gripping on to the underlying tissues which helps to pull the skin tight. Collagen will also be produced where the thread has been inserted as this process triggers the body’s need to repair itself. The skin will then become firmer and fuller, with increased elasticity.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM A THREAD LIFT?
Thread lifts are becoming more and more popular as a cosmetic procedure, producing results that are similar to a surgical face lift – minus the lengthy and painful recovery time. The final results may be instantly noticeable, developing further during the few weeks that follow. Patients often express that smoother, tighter skin around the eyebrows, forehead, cheeks, jawline, eyes and neck often leaves them looking 10 years younger, which has a significant impact on their self-confidence. As with many non-surgical treatments, a thread lift offers a temporary solution for youthful rejuvenation of the face and neck. However, the effects can last for up to 3 years for which the progression of the ageing process will also contribute to.
