WHAT ARE TEAR TROUGH FILLERS?
At Dr Grace Kelly Aesthetic Skin Clinic in Chalfont St Peter, our tear trough fillers treatment uses a tear trough dermal filler to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The area that lies between the lower lid and the cheek is known as the tear trough. This part of the face can become sunken as a person gets older, often giving the eyes a tired look that may also contribute to the development of dark circles and eyebags.
Tear trough fillers (also known as eye bag fillers) can help to fill out this area and restore a more youthful and revitalised appearance.
HOW DO TEAR TROUGH FILLERS WORK?
One of the most effective ways to eliminate the appearance of tear troughs is to administer a tear trough dermal filler beneath the skin. The skin and tissues around the eyes are delicate and more sensitive in nature than on other areas of the face. At our Buckinghamshire practice, a special formulation of tear trough filler is used to carry out this treatment, which is applied using a very small needle.
Most patients undergoing tear trough fillers at our Chalfont St Peter clinic feel the need to have a numbing cream applied prior to the procedure, to minimise any tenderness and sensitivity.
DO TEAR TROUGH FILLERS REDUCE WRINKLES?
Almost immediately after eye bag fillers are administered the tear trough area will appear fuller and fresher. The outcome can give the eye area a youthful appearance, with smoother skin that softens lines and wrinkles and reduces the appearance of eye bags. Without the hollows beneath the eyes, any shadowing may also disappear.
The tear trough dermal filler will dissolve slowly over a period of around 12 months, by which time the outcome will also have declined. Refreshing the appearance of the eyes can be achieved with regular maintenance procedures.
