Bra Fat

Bra fat can affect the back, under the arms, the breasts or a combination of all three.

WHAT IS BRA FAT?

Small pockets of fat bulge out from the outer edges of the bra or strappy clothing, which is often noticeable to others. This can cause an aesthetic concern to the affected person as it gives the perception that a person is out of shape. Bra fat doesn’t have to mean that a person is overweight as it is a common concern which can develop on many people, even those of a slimmer build.

WHAT CAUSES BRA FAT?

In some cases bra fat is the result of excess fat stored in this region of the body, from having gained weight. Weight gain often occurs when a person regularly consumes more calories than the body needs to function, which then gets stored as fat. The amount of energy that the body needs differs from person to person, and many people use up any excess energy by increasing their activity levels. Affecting many women over the age of 30, the development of bra fat can also be influenced by genetics and changes in hormones when ageing. These factors can determine how well the body uses up its energy and where in the body excess fat is distributed.

HOW CAN THIS BE TREATED?

Many people treat the development of excess fat by making changes to their lifestyle; making healthy choices in their diet and ensuring they exercise more regularly. However, this doesn’t always get rid of all excess fat and bra fat can be particularly stubborn. At Dr. Grace Kelly Aesthetic Skin Clinic we have Aqualyx fat dissolving injections available to help reshape the body. This treatment is effective when targeting smaller areas such as these, to help emulsify fatty deposits so they can be naturally removed from the body.   I’ve been visiting  Dr Grace for facial treatments for several years. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Dr Grace always puts me at ease and I always come away happy with the result.
