Detailed assessment and photographic monitoring of your moles and pigmented lesions, helping you keep track of changes over time.
At Dr Grace Kelly Aesthetic Skin Clinic in Chalfont St Peter, Map My Mole provides a detailed assessment of your moles and other pigmented lesions, creating a photographic record that can be used to monitor changes over time.
Moles are common, and most are harmless. However, changes in a mole’s size, shape or colour can sometimes be a sign that further assessment is needed. Regular monitoring can make it easier to identify changes that may otherwise be difficult to notice.
Our Map My Mole service combines a thorough skin assessment with detailed photography, allowing individual moles to be documented and compared during future appointments where appropriate.
During your appointment, your skin will be carefully assessed and photographs may be taken to create a baseline record of your moles and pigmented lesions.
Where appropriate, close-up or dermoscopic images can also be taken of individual lesions. These images provide a more detailed view and can be compared with photographs taken at a later appointment to identify changes over time.
Your practitioner will discuss the findings with you and advise whether monitoring, further assessment or referral is appropriate.
Mole mapping can be particularly useful for people who have:
Monitoring is particularly useful because changes in a mole can be difficult to recognise from memory alone.
Your practitioner will begin by discussing your skin, medical history and any particular moles or areas of concern.
A detailed examination of your skin will then be carried out, with photographs taken as appropriate. Individual lesions may be photographed more closely, including using dermoscopy where clinically appropriate.
Your images provide a baseline record which can be used for comparison at future appointments.
Following your assessment, your practitioner will explain the findings and recommend an appropriate monitoring plan if required.
Mole mapping is a monitoring and assessment tool and does not replace a medical diagnosis.
If a mole appears suspicious or has features that require further investigation, you may be advised to seek further assessment from an appropriate medical specialist. Any mole that is changing, bleeding, itching or otherwise causing concern should be medically assessed rather than relying solely on photographic monitoring.
Map My Mole may be suitable for adults who would benefit from having their moles and pigmented lesions professionally assessed and documented.
Your practitioner will discuss your individual circumstances and determine whether mole mapping is appropriate for you.
At Dr Grace Kelly Aesthetic Skin Clinic, our approach is centred around careful assessment, patient safety and personalised treatment planning.
Map My Mole provides you with a detailed record of your skin, helping you and your practitioner monitor your moles over time and identify when further assessment may be appropriate.

Anti-wrinkle injections can have an instant effect that continues to develop for up to 2 weeks. The appearance of facial lines and wrinkles will become dramatically reduced, and in some cases can be totally erased. The creation of a smoother complexion eliminates the tired look that is characteristic of general ageing, for a youthful and rested look.
This anti-ageing treatment provides a temporary solution to the effects of ageing, slowly breaking down and becoming absorbed by the body. Anti-wrinkle injectables typically last for around 3 – 6 months, when repeating the process will ensure longer lasting results.

The appropriate frequency depends on your individual skin and risk factors. Your practitioner will advise you on whether and when a follow-up assessment is appropriate.
Mole mapping is not a diagnosis. If a lesion appears concerning, further medical assessment may be recommended.
