WHAT ARE TEMPLE FILLERS?
At the Dr Grace Kelly Aesthetic Skin Clinic in Chalfont St Peter, we offer temple fillers to restore volume to the temples. The temple area is affected by a decrease in tissue mass as much as the rest of the face, and can have an impact on its overall shape.
For temple filler treatment we use dermal fillers to replace any lost density in the temporal area due to the declining levels of collagen – a natural part of the ageing process.
HOW DO TEMPLE FILLERS WORK?
Dermal fillers in the temples are found to be one of the most effective ways of creating volume in this area. Dr Grace Kelly understands that the temples are a sensitive part of the face, and take steps to ensure that temple filler treatment is as comfortable as possible at our Chalfont St Peter clinic.
A soft, biodegradable gel containing high concentrations of hyaluronic acid is applied to each side of the face using a fine needle. We place the filler at the most suitable points to ensure the temples look and feel less hollow. Although this non-surgical injection treatment often addresses both sides of the face, we ensure the right amount of filler is used on each side independently, so the outcome is as symmetrical as possible.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT FROM TEMPLE FILLERS?
The application of temple fillers can have a noticeable impact on the overall appearance of the face, with many of our Buckinghamshire patients often feeling the results can compare to a mini face-lift. As well as filling out the temples and restoring the contours of the upper face, temple fillers can provide added support for the mid and lower face, meaning other concerns (such as nasolabial folds and sagging skin) also appear reduced.

A topical numbing cream may be applied before the temple filler treatment, and in many cases, dermal fillers can be mixed with a mild anaesthetic.
Redness, swelling, mild bruising and tenderness are common side effects of temple fillers, and are to be expected following temple filler treatment. We usually find that most of our Buckinghamshire patients report their face feels back to normal within a couple of days, and more serious complications are uncommon – although we explain all risks at the consultation.
After temple filler treatment at our Chalfont St Peter clinic, we advise you to avoid touching and rubbing the treatment area, as well as hot showers, baths and prolonged sun exposure. Please also avoid wearing make-up for the first 48 hours.
